Howard “Howie” Brown, CRPC®, CSSCS

Howie Brown has been a financial advisor since 1990 and has worked in the financial services industry since 1978. Over his career, before joining Cetera, Howie worked for NY Community Bank, Cuna Mutual, SunTrust Bank, European American Bank and Equitable Life. He strives to make a difference in people’s lives, working hard so they don’t have to.

When Howie began his career in the financial world as an advisor, he was inspired to be different—to learn about each client and understand their individual situation before making any recommendation.  Without question, Howie’s clients know that he cares; he does what he says he will do and makes sure to explain both the up side and the down side of each recommendation so that they have well-rounded and clear information on which to base their decisions.

Retirement planning is one of Howie’s main areas of specialization. He notes that many people spend more time planning a vacation that lasts a week or two than they spend planning for their retirement, which could last 30 years or more. With specialized training as a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor and a designation from the Corporation for Social Security Claiming Strategies, he works with clients from all walks of life and income levels to help change this dynamic.

Every client is different, and Howie enjoys hearing the stories of their life experiences. He is dedicated to maintaining these relationships, keeping in touch by phone, face-to-face or through virtual meetings; several client relationships have been in place more than 30 years. Education is a key part of serving his clients and Howie conducts a wide variety of seminars and webinars on topics that address significant topics that deepen their financial knowledge and help them prepare for retirement.

Married for 46 years, Howie grew up in the Bronx, New York and later lived on Long Island. More recently, he and his wife have settled in Delray Beach, Florida after living in Atlanta for 15 years. He graduated from the City College of New York with a degree in Biology and Psychology He holds Series 6, 7, 63, and 65 securities registrations, the CRPC® (Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor) designation, specialized training and designation from the Corporation for Social Security Claiming Strategies, and insurance licenses in eleven states, and. Howie enjoys spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He likes to watch hockey and baseball and is a loyal fan of the Rangers and the Yankees.
